Get started with Microsoft Teams - Type the Word

Type the Word connects to Microsoft Education through the school Microsoft account used for Teams. It synchronizes the teacher’s classes and roster, then uses the same connection for assignments and progress updates.

Before you begin

Choose a Microsoft Entra administrator who can grant tenant consent.
Confirm teachers and students are members of the correct Microsoft Education classes.
Ask everyone to use a school Microsoft account rather than a personal account.

Onboarding path

You are ready when

Microsoft administrator consent is complete.
A teacher synchronization imports the expected classes and rosters.
Students can sign in with rostered school Microsoft accounts.
