Prerequisites
- Your administrator has enabled Type the Word in Google Workspace.
- Your school Google account is a teacher in at least one active Google Classroom course.
- The students you expect to teach are enrolled in that course.
Sign in as a teacher
Go to the Type the Word login page. Under “Get started as…”, choose “Teacher”.
1 is "Teacher" on the login page.

1 is "Continue with Google" on Teacher login.
Type the Word confirms the teacher role by looking for at least one active
Google Classroom course where the selected account is a teacher. If your
account is not recognized, ask the course owner or a Google Classroom
administrator to add you as a teacher, accept the invitation, confirm the
course is active, and then try signing in again.
Verify your classes
After you sign in, Type the Word opens a class. In the sidebar, open the “Classroom” dropdown and confirm the Google Classroom courses you teach are listed. Select the class you want to check.
1 is "7th Grade - Literature Class" in the Classroom dropdown.

1 is the "Students" heading. 2 is "Connected" for a student on the roster.
Setup complete
Teacher onboarding is complete when you can open a class and see its expected student roster. Continue by sharing the student setup guide.Troubleshooting
