Type the Word uses Clever AnySchool to import your schools, sections, teachers, and students. After that roster is in place, Clever LMS Connect sends assignments and grades to Canvas. Teachers and students launch Type the Word from Canvas after matching finishes. If your district already uses Clever, follow Clever setup instead.

Before you begin

  • SIS administrator access so you can connect or export the roster Type the Word should import
  • Canvas administrator access so someone can create a “Developer Key”

Onboarding path

Administrator: SIS

Follow the Connect your SIS guide. This will allow your students to log in to Type the Word with their Canvas credentials.

Administrator: Canvas

Follow the Connect to Canvas guide. This will allow Type the Word to automatically create and manage assignments in Canvas for your teacher.

Teacher

Launch Type the Word from Canvas and verify classes.

Student

Launch Type the Word from Canvas and verify access.

  • The AnySchool roster synchronization succeeds.
  • Canvas LMS Connect matching is complete.
  • Teachers can open Type the Word from Canvas and see the expected classes.
  • Students can open Type the Word from a Canvas assignment or LTI link.
