Under "Classroom" (1), turn on "Show leaderboard" (2) and choose a "Leaderboard style" (3).

Leaderboards are off by default. This setting applies to all assignments and assessments in the classroom. Turn off “Show leaderboard” and select “Save” to stop showing rankings.

Choose what students see

  • “Podium” shows the top three qualifying finishers and the student’s own score. Students outside the podium do not see their rank.
  • “Full roster” shows every qualifying finisher’s place and score, with the student’s own result highlighted.
Both styles display names using a first name and last initial. Rankings can encourage friendly competition, but they may not suit every classroom. See Gamification for Type the Word’s approach to optional gamification.
