# Get started with Microsoft Teams

> Approve Type the Word for your Microsoft tenant, synchronize classes, and onboard teachers and students.

Type the Word connects to Microsoft Education through the school Microsoft account used for Teams. It synchronizes the teacher's classes and roster, then uses the same connection for assignments and progress updates.

## Before you begin

* Choose a Microsoft Entra administrator who can grant tenant consent.
* Confirm teachers and students are members of the correct Microsoft Education classes.
* Ask everyone to use a school Microsoft account rather than a personal account.
