# Passage of the Day

> Enable an optional daily Scripture typing challenge for students and teachers at your school.

## Enable Passage of the Day for your school

1. Open **"Settings"**, then **"School"**.
2. Turn on **"Passage of the Day"**.
3. Select **"Save"**.

Open "School" (1), then turn on "Passage of the Day" (2).

Passage of the Day is off by default for schools. This setting applies to the
school, rather than one classroom. If the switch is disabled, ask your school
administrator to enable it.

## Open the daily passage

Once your school has enabled it, students and teachers can select **"Daily"**
from Home to open the day's passage. Type the passage to complete the daily
challenge. Returning each day can build a streak.

## Turn it off again

Turn off **"Passage of the Day"** in School settings and select **"Save"**.
Students and teachers at the school will no longer have access through this
school's setting. Teachers who also belong to another school with the feature
enabled can still access it.

See [Gamification](https://docs.typetheword.com/classroom/gamification) for Type the Word's approach to optional
gamification. Personal accounts have access to the daily passage separately
from school settings.
