# Gamification

> Choose whether leaderboards and Passage of the Day fit your school’s approach to learning.

## Gamification is opt-in

Type the Word helps students build typing skills and spend time in Scripture.
Some students enjoy a little competition or a daily challenge. Others benefit
from working without rankings or streaks.

For classroom and school accounts, these features are off by default. Teachers
can enable leaderboards for a classroom, and school administrators can enable
Passage of the Day for their school. You can use Type the Word without either
feature and turn them off again in settings.
